Herndon needs a principal that has been in the community for a while, someone that understands how the high school is run and can easily relate to the faculty and more importantly to the students. The principal needs to be amiable and understanding of problems without reacting with harsh punishments or policies that are trivial or ineffective. For instance, Mr. Martinez added a lunch bell that affected virtually no one, that was stupid. The new parking pass situation is equally stupid because now i have to park deep in the cage while underclassmen park closer. It is obviously necessary that the new principal be tough and able to control the issues that come up, but he should also be comprehensive to the circumstances that surround each problem and act accordingly. He needs to be smart and also realize that each student has different intentions behind any action that they partake in, and he needs to take that into account before administering any punishments or policies that are too harsh or consequential to those whom any such actions may affect.
